Dear Patterson Associate-

Rebuilding Together is partnering with Patterson Real Estate Advisory to provide home repairs and improvements for a senior homeowner living within SW Atlanta. Rebuilding Together-Atlanta is a part of the national affilate network and is thrilled you are volunteering with us. You will be supporting Rickey Mason, who has lived in his home for 50 years.  Please join us on Thursday May 2 for the 2024 Patterson Real Estate Day of Service.

Meet the Homeowner

Rickey Mason

Rickey Mason,70, is a legacy resident that has lived in his Southwest Atlanta-Wildwood neighborhood home for 50 years. He is a fiercely independent senior and determined to age in place in his home and community.

The home has several needs to be addressed. The roof is old and actively leaks anytime it rains. This causes Rickey stress and potential air quality issues for him. Mr. Mason will be receiving a roof through the RTA Rood Replacement Program using a Federal Grant through HUD. The deck, yard, and landscaping also need attention. Mr. Mason has found that that basic activities of daily living have becoming more challenging as of late, in particular his ability to maintain his deck and yard. "It is unsafe” It becoming pretty difficult"

As a legacy homeowner living on a fixed income, he is unable to afford hiring a contractor to to help with necessary repairs and maintanance. With your help, Rickey believes he can have a safely maintained space that will allow him to age in place with dignity in his home and community.

Patterson volunteers will be helping with painting the deck, front porch, and the barn. Volunteers will also help with cleaning out the overgrown yard, leaves and debris, cleaning out the gutters. The interior of the house needs the ceiling patched in areas and to alert devices installed.

Thank you for your time and commitment to Rebuilding Together Atlanta, and serving a senior homeowner in need of home repairs. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday May 2.

Please consider donating to help Rickey and other homeowners like them with needed home repairs. Each day, RTA gets a phone call from a homeowner in need and each day the waiting list gets longer. Together WE CAN IMPROVE the housing stock in the metro area and provide legacy residents with the safe and healthy homes that they deserve.  All donations go directly to making home repairs to seniors and veterans in need living in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
