We want to celebrate you, single mom!

Join us for an uplifting celebration this Mother's Day at SMILE's specially curated event for single moms, themed "From Overwhelm to Overflow: Living Abundantly as Single Moms." This year, we're embracing the journey of transformation, recognizing the strength and resilience it takes to navigate motherhood solo, and exploring the pathways to living a life filled with abundance and joy.

Our gathering will feature an inspirational talk from a guest speaker who has walked the path of single motherhood and emerged with empowering insights and strategies to share. This is a unique opportunity to hear real-life stories of overcoming challenges and discovering the fullness of life's potential, even in the face of adversity. It's a chance to connect, learn, and grow together in an environment that understands and celebrates your journey.

But it's not all talks and tears - we're planning a day filled with joy, laughter, and celebration! Enjoy a spread of delicious food, receive thoughtful gifts that honor your incredible role as a mom, and participate in fun activities designed to nourish your soul and forge lasting friendships with other moms who truly 'get it.' This Mother's Day, let's come together to shift from feeling overwhelmed to overflowing with love, support, and abundance. Don't miss this empowering event meant to uplift, inspire, and celebrate YOU, the incredible single moms who do it all.

Activities include: arts and crafts, scrub bar, herbal bath tea bar, a bouquet bar, and more.

FAQs

Are children allowed to attend this event?

We understand that being a single mom can be challenging and exhausting. That's why we have created this event to provide you with a much-needed break and a chance to relax away from your children. We know it can be tough to leave your little ones behind, but please be assured that we have made arrangements for childcare for children aged 12 and younger, so you can fully enjoy your time with us. Our background checked childcare team is led by a trained professional. Children will not be allowed in the celebration area. Teens are allowed to come if they help with the children's activites.

What should I wear?

There's no dress code for this awesome event, but our leadership team usually sports some fabulous spring dresses. And guess what? A photo booth will be there to capture all your fun moments! So come prepared and let's make some unforgettable memories!

What time should I arrive?

The doors will be open at 12:30 PM so that you can take photos with your children in the photobooth before the event begins. You are welcome to arrive at any time. Our celebration gathering will be held at 3:00 PM, during which we will be conducting drawings for some amazing prizes.

Meet our guest speaker, Ada Rouse:

Born in a small mining town in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, Ada moved to the Rocky Mountains of Idaho when she was just a toddler. This beautiful place has been her home for four decades and she has a deep love for the community and the people in it. With a passion for living authentically and loving those around her she has, by the goodness of God, found herself in spaces where she can do just that.

After being a stay at home mom for as long as she could talk her husband into, she was a substitute teacher for five years in public education and was a light to students and staff. On staff at Heart of the City for seven years as a pastoral administrator and the leader for their outreach ministry she was able to serve the people of their church family and also those in the community. She ran the Single Moms Celebration for five years and it was her full circle moment orchestrated by God. She was honored to have the privilege of sharing God’s love and the light of Jesus with those around her. Currently she is on the leadership team at Northwest Specialty Hospital as the executive assistant to the CEO and in the role of Community Liaison. Once again in a space where she can be the light.

Her very favorite role is being a wife and the mother of her three incredible children. She spends most of her free time watching them play the sports they love. But you can also find her hunting for treasures at a thrift store, reading a good book on the beach, or telling stories and laughing with friends.

She continues to be in awe of the beauty of this life and is so thankful for Jesus and the way He loves.
