February Nonprofit of the Month: Findlay Market

Findlay Market- operated continuously in the same iron-framed building since 1855 - is not just another historic monument; it is an essential institution to life in 21st century Cincinnati. Linking uptown with downtown, Findlay Market is a vibrant living landmark at the heart of Cincinnati's future.
Findlay Market merchants create a unique shopping experience for market customers, offering fresh foods at affordable prices. Many of their businesses are multi-generational, passed from grandparent to grandchild, keeping the traditions and values of Findlay Market alive.
In addition to keeping Findlay Market safe, clean and beautiful, the nonprofit for Findlay Market provides business-building growth opportunities for food entrepeneurs. They also support low income shoppers and community members in numerous ways.
These include:
  1. Findlay Kitchen - a shared use incubator kitchen with a focus on helping BIPOC, women and immigrant-owned businesses start, grow and scale.
  2. Findlay Culinary Training program - workforce development program that trains those with high barriers to employment in the skills necessary to start a career in the culinary industry.
  3. Findlay Launch - the Cincinnati region's first Storefront Accelerator program designed to help entrepeneurs  reach the next stage of their business.
  4. Findlay Market Online Shopping App - provides food access to low-income shoppers and supports 30+ small local businesses with access to diversified sales channels.

We at BetterUnite are excited to be a part of the goals of Findlay Market, facilitating and enhancing their fundraising ventures and supporting such an expansive and delectable mission!
